The first Fridays originated in 1965 at 63rd and 1st street in New York where the slogan “It’s always Friday in here” was coined. To host what has been referred to as the “greatest show on earth” this red and white striped phenomenon was created with reference to the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Those who enjoyed the wild nights and great fun in the area went there for the cocktails and the great bartenders. Within just a week of its operation, it became the first restaurant that required barriers to contain the flow of people eager to dine there! It became a place where people would go to get a meal and a drink, not to mention the legendary appeal of the place!
