The original Fitzbillies location is located on Trumpington Street, and the new location is located on Bridge Street. There are two Fitzbillies locations, one at each point in the city.
Ernest Mason and Arthur Mason used the money they had earned from the “demob” during the First World War to establish Fitzbillies in the year 1920. Their initials are still visible on the front of the shop, written in gold letters that have become weathered.
Ticker Mason, a local baker, had a business higher up Trumpington Street, which is currently the location of the newsagents. These individuals were the sons of Ticker Mason. As a result of the fact that Ticker was a bread maker, his sons became experts in gourmet cakes and, of course, Chelsea buns.
