I found a Polish label doing elegant-but-comfy women’s clothing properly (a Cloth Store review)

I’ll be honest about how I got here. I was deep in a late-night scroll, tired of the same five high-street brands showing me the same five dresses, when a friend in Warsaw mentioned a label she swears by. Cloth Store. Made in Poland, she said, and actually comfortable. I was sceptical – “comfortable” usually means shapeless. So I went digging properly, and what I found genuinely surprised me. This is the review I wish I’d had before I started.

Here’s the short of it. Cloth Store is a Polish online shop doing women’s clothing that sits in a lovely gap – more elegant than your basic loungewear, far comfier than stiff office wear. The kind of pieces you reach for when you want to look pulled-together without suffering for it. If you want to browse along while you read, open the Cloth Store women’s collection here and keep this tab beside it.

So what is Cloth Store, really?

Let’s get the basics down. Cloth Store is a women’s fashion label based in Poland, and the “made in Poland” part isn’t just a sticker – it’s the whole point. Local production means shorter runs, closer quality control, and a feel that’s a notch above fast fashion. The aesthetic? Clean, feminine, a little understated. Think soft tailoring, easy dresses, knits you’d actually live in.

Why does that matter to you? Because the gap they’re filling is a real one. Most of us don’t want to choose between looking nice and being comfortable – we want both, every day. That’s exactly the lane Cloth Store drives in. Have a look at what’s landed in the new arrivals and you’ll see the tone straight away.

A typical Cloth Store look: elegant, soft, and built to actually move in.

The fit thing nobody warns you about

Right, the bit that saves you a return. European sizing can run a touch different from what you might be used to, and Cloth Store is no exception. The cuts lean flattering rather than oversized, so if you like a relaxed drape, it’s worth reading the measurements on each product page rather than trusting your usual number. Five minutes of checking now beats a postage faff later.

My honest steer? If you’re between two sizes, or you want a piece to skim rather than cling, size up. The fabrics tend to be soft and forgiving, so a hair more room reads as intentional, not sloppy. Check the size guide on the piece you fancy before you add it to your bag.

The categories actually worth your time

It’s easy to get lost in any shop, so here’s where I’d start. The dresses are the heart of it – easy, day-to-night shapes that do a lot of work for very little effort. The knitwear and tops are the quiet rewearables you’ll build outfits around. And the weekend-leaning pieces (soft separates, relaxed tanks) are the comfy backbone of the whole thing.

The soft separates are the sleeper hit – the things you’ll wear far more than the statement pieces.

My tip: start in dresses, then sweep the tops for the basics that tie everything together. You’ll have built a little capsule before you know it. Take a stroll through the dresses and tops here and see what jumps out.

Why “made in Poland” is doing more than you think

I want to linger here, because it’s the part that won me over. When a brand makes close to home, you tend to get better fabric choices, neater finishing, and pieces designed to last past one season. It’s slower fashion without the slow-fashion price tag, and that combination is rarer than it should be. You can feel it in the weight of the cloth and the way a seam sits.

Local production shows up in the small things – the drape, the finish, the way it wears.

Is it for everyone? Probably not – if you only ever want the cheapest possible top, this isn’t that. But if you’d rather buy a little better and a little less, it’s a genuinely smart place to shop. See the quality for yourself on the full women’s range.

The honest verdict

So, was my Warsaw friend right? Mostly, yes. Cloth Store nails the elegant-but-comfortable brief that so many brands promise and so few deliver, and the made-in-Poland quality is the real deal. I went in a sceptic and came out planning a small order. That doesn’t happen often.

My one honest gripe? You do have to read the size guide – the cuts are flattering but not one-size-fits-all, so shopping on autopilot can trip you up. Do that small bit of homework and the hit rate is high. If you’ve been craving clothes that look considered and feel easy, this is your nudge. Start your Cloth Store browse here and find the piece you’ll actually reach for.

How to Dress for Your First Live NBA Game

Imogen Hartley trained in fashion, fell hard for interiors, and has never quite managed to pick a side. To her, an outfit and a room are the same puzzle - proportion, colour, and one detail that breaks the rules on purpose. She writes about style and design as a single subject, because the way we dress and the way we live have never really been separate. Expect honest opinions on what is worth the splurge, what photographs beautifully but falls apart by the third wear, and how to make a charity-shop find look like the best thing you own. Imogen is a sucker for good vintage and a sceptic about anything labelled 'must-have'. She would rather you bought one thing you love than ten you tolerate. Her promise: look good, live well, and stop buying everything in sight.
